Elf Evolution 400 10W-30 is a premium mineral motor oil designed for drivers who want a reliable, cost-effective lubricant for older or less complex engines. Unlike the 900-series (fully synthetic) or the 700-series (semi-synthetic), the 400-series is the "Essential" range, utilizing traditional mineral base oils.Because it is a mineral oil, it carries older API ratings that are perfectly suited for "Youngtimer" cars and engines without sensitive modern emissions equipment like DPFs.Older engines often have gaskets and seals made from materials that can shrink or leak when exposed to certain synthetic detergents.
